Acute Stress

Acute stress is the most common type of stress. The people who are most at risk of suffering from acute stress are people who have encountered or witnessed a traumatic event in the past and a history of mental problems in the past . If you have acute stress you will persistently re-experience the traumatic event in many ways. That include feeling distressed when something reminds you of the horror event, feeling as though you are re-experiencing the event or having constant/reoccurring nightmares, images or flashbacks the horror event

Episodic Acute Stress

Episodic stress seems to be common within people who are always seeming to be having a crisis. These people are most often short-tempered, irritable and anxious. People suffering from episodic stress will constantly have negative health affects and they may find it hard to change their lifestyle or manage their stress, as these people begin to accept stress as being a part of their life. People experiencing this type of stress will most likely take on more projects and responsibilities then they can handle physically. They feel as they are always running late, being in a rush constantly and having organisation difficulties.

Chronic Stress

Chronic stress can occur from things such as being in a profession that makes you unhappy, a divorce or unhappy marriage and also family issues. Chronic stress is when someone feels as though they are trapped in one of those situations. The problem with chronic stress is that it starts to weaken the person's mental and physical health as they always feel they are in a situation that they don’t want to be in.
